Introduction

Jewellery Quarter: the treasure of Amsterdam

The Amsterdam Jewellery Quarter initiative arose naturally out of the realisation that a lot of companies specialising in jewellery and related items had clustered in the small area of Amsterdam area incorporating Langebrugsteeg, Grimburgwal and the Nes.

Several business owners then got together to come up with ways of promoting these local jewellers, and these brainstorm sessions led to the setting up of the Amsterdam Jewellery Quarter traders’ association, with a membership of around ten businesses.
